Oil Spill Response have a diverse portfolio of people who have the practical skills and experience to assist and support our Members during a spill response and are trained in using the Incident Command System (ICS) structure. Since 2011, we have been using ICS as our primary management tool at our bases and in-field to facilitate a response that effectively meets our Members’ needs. We have also been able to integrate with different types of response management systems as required by our Members. This ICS diagram demonstrates how our expertise can be utilised in all aspects of an oil spill response from incident management and command to in-field activities. Response operations invariably raise a number of safety concerns that must be considered. Our comprehensive safety procedures consistently ensure that we work in the safest way possible at our regional bases and on the spill site Incident Management Our response personnel are trained in ICS as we recognise that a successful response relies on a clear organisational structure supported by competent personnel. We provide expertise to support and supplement existing command structure and work alongside Responsible Parties (RP) at Command Staff and Section Chief levels to provide expert guidance in managing an incident.
